What does updating my account do?

Recently, I decided to update my account, but I don’t know if progress will be deleted or not, so I am afraid to try. Could someone please help me? Thanks!

Yeah. What does it do? (If it does something, just create another account specifically to test)

Don’t update to teacher unless you’re a teacher - you’ll be blocked from playing the game.
Don’t update to student unless you’re part of a class with a teacher – you’ll be blocked from playing the game.
