my parents think its useless even though we’re going on a trip to europe literally next month
No, I think it’s pretty useless too. It depends where you’re going, and I’m pretty sure a lot of people speak english there, even if it’s not the language you associate with the country.
Yeah I can almost guarantee you that if you go up to a local and speak a Duolingo level language, they’re gonna tell you to speak English

duolingo doesn’t really teach grammar and stuff that well
Ik that’s what really turned me away from Duolingo bc I kinda understood what I was saying, but I had no idea how to create a sentence or understand what to say or write
