In the eye of the dragon, there lies a secret undisclosed,
A secret made of wonders, yet many horrors in its folds.
All we can do is gaze at it, until the end of time,
Enchanted by the fire, the celestial blaze sublime.

In the eye of the dragon, there lies a puzzle to be solved,
A puzzle that existed since the world had first revolved.
But all we see inside of it is the flame of draconic soul,
A blaze that all dragons, only with it, can be whole.

In the eye of the dragon, there lies an anger to behold,
An anger never satisfied, back from the days of old.
Where dragons still were reigning, but now those days are gone,
And so this remaining, final dragon awaits his death alone.

In the eye of the dragon, there lies a emptiness never filled,
Loneliness that hurt, is hurting, always ever will.
The dragon is bereft, for its kind has passed away,
Dead from many humans, as their paths were led astray.

In the eye of the dragon, there lies a blankness, gray as fog,
The air, now crystal clear, no longer black from heavy smog.
With scales already dimming and a color dark as lead,
The last of the dragons, the former terror of the air, is dead.
