What itâs really like:
Windows is better change my mind
âLinuxâ is a term encompassing a lot of operating systems. Each of these is different, and each has its pros and cons. In most cases like this, people are referring to Arch (users sterotypically never leave their guardiansâ basement and tell everyone they use Arch), Ubuntu (usually what people mean by âLinuxâ), or Debian (the âchromebook versionâ).

Linux doesnât need you to use the terminal to install apps. You can run files just as you can run Windows files, and you can even run .exe files using easy-to-install software like Wine.

Linux doesnât do everything it can to make you use Microsoft Edge (instant win imo)

There are many more choices when using Linux. These offer a variety of benefits including improved privacy, more customisation, a functioning and useful search bar (unlike Windowsâ search bar, which is essentially just Bing, and canât find files).

It really depends
For professional software development usually Linux or Mac is better
For professional gaming windows is better
Also, Linux is a lot less resource intensive than Windows. Linux is also open-source, and because of this it is also considered more secure. Lastly, I believe the OS is more customizable than Windows.
One of the downsides of Linux is the setup needed to get some features, but itâs usually possible:

That is correct, most Xbox games wonât run natively on Linux-based operating systems.
(Iâm usually a Windows user too. As Piano_Zombie said, it is better for gaming.)
