the old testament is what helps build up the new testament, what is written in psalms and different events going on prophesies what was going to happen, for example, (Psalm 22:16)
we do not follow the beliefs in the old testament, but we take that information for the new testament.
im currently reading Deuteronomy, and all it is talking about is rules in Judaism, and iā€™m telling you it gets VERY VERY specificā€¦
