We need help staying on top of the bugs and inconsistencies across browsers. We playtest in Mac Chrome all the time and Firefox sometimes, but it’s a big game and we often don’t notice little bugs that come up in Internet Explorer, Safari, and Firefox, especially bugs that only affect Windows or Linux.
If you have some time to help out, please fire up one of these browsers, play at least five levels (any five levels), and try to break things. File bug reports on GitHub for anything that doesn’t work on another browser but does work in Chrome or your normal browser:
Windows IE 11
[ ] Windows IE 10
[ ] Windows IE 9
Windows Firefox
Windows Chrome
Linux Firefox
Linux Chrome
Mac Firefox
[ ] Mac Safari 6
[ ] Mac Safari 7
[ ] Mac Safari 8
Post here if you’ve finished a test run in one of these browsers so I can check it off.
I’ve played through the entire campaign, visited most pages on the website and completed all subscriber levels on Windows Chrome 40.0.2214.91. So far not received any issues that are browser specific.
Hi, i have crashes on different maps with FIREFOX 35.0.1, i join 3 crashes reports and 1 crashes report copy for the name of map, sorry i forget copy/paste for others.
Yes it is indeed a OOM problem but after the 3 different reports I sent I think it is memory leaks, the ccdump tool seems to confirm this hypothesis but I’m not a specialist about it and I just want to alert you to help. I’ll follow the nick advice and implement a monitoring system of memory for codecombat. If anyone has an idea for this I’m interested because Firefox does not create one process by tab.
Using Chrome :
Since the begining, I have sometimes the level that slowdown until total freeze. I reload tha page and it works again Sometimes the full chrome is dead. Same, restart and it’s ok.
So on a regular basis, I have to refresh the page. More often on heavy level (multiplayeur for example).
