Flying ball glitch

I was doing some tests with the flying ball, when I noticed a discrepancy in collisions. When two balls are launched at different speeds, the faster one would experience fewer collisions than the slower one. I used the built in collision detector with the “code play share” level to determine the number of collisions. From what I have seen in the simulation, it comes down to fast flying balls not registering some collisions. Has anyone experienced this before?
