This is a feature now.
You have to get a subscription after the first 5 levels.
man it used to be free for most levels when me and my sis played now they do this :<

Yes, it’s very sad. But they’re having difficulty paying the workers. They said they need the money.
I don’t know if this is true where you live, but sometimes schools or libraries might provide access to CodeCombat. Perhaps you can check?
