I don’t believe this:

Drink something hot to cool down

Conventional wisdom may tell you that if you are hot, drinking something cold will cool down your body. However, research has shown that on a hot day, drinking a hot beverage may help your body stay cool. The reason being that when you drink a hot drink, your body produces sweat to cool down your body temperature.

Initially you may be adding heat by drinking the hot liquid, but the amount of sweat that your body produces to cool down more than makes up for the added heat from the liquid. The increased perspiration is key; when the sweat evaporates from your skin, it is able to cool down your body temperature.

But if you drink something hot you’re hot anyways so what’s the point?
and you sweat more

That’s exactly why I said “I don’t believe this” :expressionless:

I know…
I’m kinda venting that people would even think about something like this
sorry if I made it seem like you did think that

Nah it’s okay it’s kind of a dumb thing anyway

That’s the point

Bruh.
That’s not a good thing. It’s not like your body will forget how to sweat if you don’t drink hot water

Either way I still wouldn’t be comfortable drinking hot cocoa after a cross country meet when it’s 85 degrees.

See above

The sweat removes the heat.

But it’s gonna be removed anyways
as your body sweats naturally

Yes but it’ll be removed faster that way.

Huh?
why would it be?

I can sometimes present myself as being quite articulate.

But you don’t want your sweat to be removed by over sweating which is what a hot drink might do.

Because the extra heat makes you sweat more

The more sweat is better than the less sweat that you’d have otherwise, so heat is removed faster. This includes both thermal energy from the drink and that which was already there
