What’s going on at school

Continuing the discussion from the Memes Topic
I am so traumatized by my geometry assesment

it couldnt have gone worse than my chem quiz

it definitely could
there were 2 simple tasks that I def solved, 2 mid tasks where I got awful answers (like sqrt(4sqrt(2)-6sqrt(3))/3) and one difficult task that I also probably failed

eh dont worry

youre in Russia. unless they explicitly test Geometry there for something important you’ll never see it again. getting grades up is the main thing

meanwhile i forgot the basics of solubility as an AP Chemistry student

yeah idk why geometry is so dang hard here, it’s not like I will ever use it again. why would I even need 3rd geometry :sob:

Oh I stopped understanding chemistry after I finished 9th grade

i took bio in 9th, AP bio and chem in 10th, and now AP physics, AP chem, and anatomy

if i could just stop being stupid and lock in it would be easy

for context, AP stands for Advanced Placement and it jst means its a college level class

so relatable
idrk what is the concept of these AP courses but idk I can’t say I like science

oh thx I just wanted to ask

so what’s the difference between AP and regular classes? is it just harder or is it important for college application?

its pretty useful. you take the AP class, then take a test over the material at end of year. if you pass, you get college credit and save on tuition later on

generally, and AP class is harder than its normal equivalent, and the teachers also scale accordingly for how much they care what you do in class (my friends in on-level physics dont do anything the whole 90 mins)

oh that’s nice
these months I’m spending so much time on different contests to be able to study for free in the university

yeah im not really good enough at anything other than school to compete

im thinking about joining an amateur cricket tournament, and i briefly competed in chess

what about studying advanced stuff related to your majors? what are they btw?

that’s crazy
I only participate in olympiads (school contests with advanced topics) in economics and different business case championships and stuff. Used to be in the school’s table tennis and football teams but I left those because I didn’t have enough time for olympiads :sob:

i see. we have olympiads here as well, but im too lazy to study for them (btw, good luck)

im deciding between Biology, Neuroscience, and Biochemistry and then doing a PhD in neuroscience. what about you?

thanks mate!

wow that sounds really advanced, gl to you too! I had troubles with biology…
I’m thinking about becoming a project manager or something in that field, I don’t really want to do PhD because I don’t want to study so much for that lol

lol i wanted to to medicine first. this is honestly a bit less studying (im an international student, so i would need to reach unseen levels of tryhard)

what industry?
