medicine is also really hard to study
do you mean like you study in an international school or what?
economics generally, idr, I haven’t decided yet. It could be an IT company, it could be banking, M&A, etc.

im an Indian citizen in the US on a visa, so im at an incredible disadvantage to get into med schools here (most dont even accept internationals). i was thinking about competed with the UK applicants for Edinburgh or Glasgow University, but if i did that i cant easily come back to the US, where i have all my friends (and also its rlly competitive + expensive). ive always been interested in lab work and research, so i decided to just go with a PhD instead
i see. well, youll find something you like eventually. thats how it was for me
oh oof
but that’s great that you managed to get there! it’s crazy how foreign students have this disadvantage. My friend got a reject from UChicago just because he is Russian (he has almost perfect sat and other exams and he meets all the criteria).
but since you got there, it already means that you have high chances of getting in a university or college. US has great resources and places for research
thats a pretty srs academic record. its probably because he didnt have too many extracurriculars.
i have multiple “safe” options i can 100% bet on getting, and some are pretty close to me. its just whether i can get anything better than a safety college like UT Dallas
but honestly, i dont know why colleges look into extracurriculars that much unless you plan to do them as a career. they should matter, but not outweigh academics imho
nah he’s the type of dude who won a few international olympiads, has volunteering hours, projects and anything you’d need to get in a top US university. My school is really good at preparing students for these things.
that’s always nice to have, I only have one university (it’s considered one of the best ones in my country but I don’t really think so and I want to get in the best one). But yeah that’s relatable
ok thats the school being absolutely stupid. hes an auto-admit to any university he wants imo
well here’s to high achievers then lol. i wish you the best of luck with that ![]()
Thanks lol
The thing is that economics in Russian universities is not as good as the ones in, say, the US, so to get a very well-paid job I need to get in the best one…
i mean, experience matters more than where you studied. if you look at a PhD, a fresh graduate is gonna earn a lot less than a 50-year-old dude thats been in the field for his whole life, no matter where you studied (obv theres exceptions, but thats the general trend)
anyway, what olympiads do you do?
Literally any that are related to economics
Anyways cya gotta play badminton
kk cya
i got so curious; how do the problems look like? can you share an example?
Sure, here are some:
I hope I translated it correctly ![]()
