I will say though, Alia deserved to die and did it to herself. Chani, Paul, were heartbreaking. Leto II wasn’t that sad of a loss though. He spent thousands and thousands of years ruling and then had to dedicate his life to the desert as a sandworm. The only death that made complete sense was Duke Leto.

Wait what???
Ya. When he was a boy in the third book, he merged with baby sandworms at the end and became part worm. Then thousands of years later he began to make the final shift into the great sandworm, that turned all of the Arrakis’ green back to sand. Which was the original plan.
