I think you two should stop chatting here or on any platform alone or publicly for a while. It would seem that ritic feels that you copied his strategy and brag to him. Unholy, you feel that what he said is bad and can only be redeemed if it was true that you copied him. From what I have seen, ritic over reacted in the beta test topic when you sent the shadow code. You weren’t bragging. You were just trying to help. Then you posted what he deleted (which didn’t help the situation, it was deleted for a reason), which continued an argument that could have been avoided. I think that ritic needs to work on talking to others when he is mad with them, whether his anger is right or wrong. I think that unholy handled it well until you kept trying to prove it to him and he continued to call you names. I see you being blamed for those, because you continued after he tried to stop you. The only other times you stepped out of line in this situation are sending a message that included his deleted statement, what you said about copying someone with poor grades (that was extremely rude), and saying you have tons of strategies that are better than his… We should not be talking to each other like this. You both have made mistakes in front of all of us. Whether or not one of you cheated, only you guys know that. I don’t think it was fair to bring all of us into this and I think that you two could have handled this in a much friendlier way, and that here we expect better. If you think that further help or action is required, please speak to Venneth. He will be able to find out the answer you both are looking for.

Unholy, let me just say this. I’m sorry. I was a bit frustrated about the situation and life as well (I’m moving, I have to abandon my friends) and needed someone to “dish it out” on. I shouldn’t of raged out on you about it. Please forgive me for this nonsensical behavior on my end and lets just be friends.

I feel like you’re both only telling parts of this argument. From what I heard from Ritic, you were bragging a lot even though he helped you. On the other hand, the erm colorful language Ritic used in those screenshots were not necessary.
Please refrain from sharing personal bits of conversation. All you’re gonna do is make the other person more mad. And this discourse was made with the intent of sharing and improving code, not sharing drama.
Also wattamelon, that wasnt necessary. We shouldn’t be relying ChatGPT to do things for us. And tbh it’s not the greatest at coding.

Players and teams are expected to act and play with integrity, honesty, and good sports conduct during AI League play. All player conduct within the AI league (email, forums, Discord, chats, etc)should be consistent with the purpose of making competitive coding fun and welcoming for everyone. Any abuse or harassment towards CodeCombat staff or other AI League participants will absolutely not be tolerated. Abuse toward staff or fellow participants will be reported to team owners, schools, and educators and subject to removal from the CodeCombat AI League.
As for the plagiarism aspect, all of these AI League tournaments will have some aspect of players adapting and taking inspiration from top strategies. Unfortunately, this is just an aspect of coding competitions and there isn’t much that can be done.
That being said, if there is clear evidence that the code itself was stolen, then measures will be taken to verify these claims and take appropriate action.
Please refer to the following rule in the AI League Rulebook:
15.1.3. Cheating
The use of any kind of cheating method is prohibited. This includes but is not limited to the use of duplicate accounts, copying another student’s submitted code, use of any device or program for the specific purpose of cheating or ranking higher, or students not submitting their own work. CodeCombat Staff will verify if cheating has taken place and consult with team owners/teachers.
All decisions are final.
This case will be escalated with the appropriate team and action will be taken accordingly. I will lock this thread and remove the images as it’s not appropriate for this forum.
Finally, let’s be kind. There are so many unnecessary & terrible things that happen because we fail to respect each other, and it’s so easily avoidable.
