Heroes Review + Tips

Default/Free Heroes

Offense: B
Defense: B+
Utility: B-
Info:
The free heroes(Ida, Alejandro, Tharin, and Anya) relatively have high health stats and damage stats, allowing them to perform well against ogres. However, their relatively slow speed stats make them vulnerable against ranged units.
Tips:
These heroes aren’t that fast, but they have a higher-range HP and Attack multiplier, making them exceptional in a 1v1 melee combat situation. Make sure to avoid being “kited” by ranged units or these heroes may be taken down with ease.

Anya Tharin Ida Alejandro

Amara Arrowhead

Offense: B+
Defense: B+
Utility: B-
Info:
Amara Arrowhead is a relatively versatile ranger hero that has a fast movement speed and decent amounts of HP and Damage, making her good against slow melee units at a range. However, her stats aren’t that great, and she has a lower-range HP stat making her fragile to melee attacks.
Tips:
When using Amara, it’s important to keep her away from strong, melee units that will deal tremendous amounts of damage upon attack(ie. brawlers) To avoid Amara from taking much damage, it’s important to kite those melee units while attacking at a distance, which allows her to avoid taking much damage.
Amara

Miss. Hushbaum

Offense: B+
Defense: B+
Utility: B-
Info:
Hushbaum is a slow, but tanky wizard hero that can deal moderate damage. Her attack and health stats are relatively higher than other wizards, but due to the lack of an ability, she isn’t too powerful.
Tips:
When using Hushbaum it’s important to note that she isn’t that fast. This means you’d want her to stay behind “summoned” units in order to make the most out of her. Since she has a high HP and moderate damage, she is able to take some hits in-battle, and also deal loads of ranged damage if used correctly. Like all other wizard heroes, she’s extremely vulnerable to rangers due to their backstab ability which can defeat her in a few hits.
Hushbaum

Hattori Hanzo

Offense: A+
Defense: C
Utility: B+
Info:
Hattori is a fast, high-damage glass cannon warrior that is extremely powerful in certain situations. With a runesword, he is able to deal a large 411 damage in a single-hit, enough to take down most units due to his 180% damage multiplier, the highest out of all warriors. He also has a high speed stat and a special ability, warcry, that is able to boost the speed stat of him and his allies by 30%. However, his health stat is the lowest out of all warriors(71%), so he’s ineffective at tanking.
Tips:
Hattori is fragile but can be extremely devastating. In order to effectively use Hattori, it’s recommended that summoned units are used to tank enemy hits, while Hattori himself picks off enemies without taking much damage. However, he’s ineffective in terms of 1-on-1 duels due to his extremely low health stat that makes him an easy hero to take down.

Senick Steelclaw

Offense: B+
Defense: A+
Utility: B
Cost Effectiveness: A+
Info:
Senick is a deadly ranger hero that can deal devastating amounts of damage whilst also being able to survive for a prolonged amount of time. He also comes with a healing ability that is able to heal 200 HP every 10 seconds. Senick unarguably has the best cost-to-effectiveness ratio with a cheap price of 1400 gems.
Tips:
Senick is best used as a tank-damage hero that is effective against a 1-on-1 duel. Furthermore, his heal ability increases his survivability, making him excellent at brawls and arena duels. However, he is slow, which makes him ineffective at “sneaking” at opponents and being able to adapt fast in battle.
Senick

Omarn Brewstone

Offense: B
Defense: B+
Utility: A
Cost Effectiveness: B+
Info:
Omarn is a wizard that has a high speed stat and a special potion brewing ability. He is able to brew a speed, healing, damage, or explosive potion. His damage multiplier isn’t very good, but his brew() ability makes up for it.
Tips:
It’s recommended to engage at enemies at a range, making the most of his splash-damage throw ability. He has a mediocre health stat meaning he’s able to tank a few hits. But he’s more oriented as a support hero than a combat-oriented hero. Like all wizards, he’s extremely vulnerable to melee damage, so it’s best to note that he shouldn’t be attacking enemies at close proximity. His brew() ability should be utilized to help in certain situations. Play smart!
Omarn

Gordon the Stalwart

Offense: B-
Defense: A-
Utility: B
Cost Effectiveness: B+
Info:
Gordon is a tanky hero that’s effective at surviving a prolonged amount of time. (ie. brawls). He also has a speed stat faster than default heroes, making him a good versatile hero. However, he isn’t too great at dealing actual damage as his damage multiplier is very low. (83%)
Tips:
Since Gordon has a decent speed stat and high HP, he’s good with taking in a lot of hits, and also moving around, making him an overall decent hero. However, he isn’t that great at dealing actual damage, so he’s outclassed by higher-tier heroes.
Gordon

Naria of the Leaf

Offense: B+
Defense: B+
Utility: B+
Cost Effectiveness: B+
Info:
Naria is a powerful hero if her ability is used correctly. Her base damage is low. However, envenom basically boosts her multiplier to 120% if it’s on a single target, making her a very versatile hero. Additionally, she comes with an invisibility ability and fast speed making her an excellent unit to use backstab with, potentially making her an extremely devastating hero.
Tips:
It’s recommended that she use a backstab weapon, due to her being an excellent “ambush” troop because of her high speed and invisibility ability. Since her damage isn’t too great, she shouldn’t be used to deal any face-to-face damage. Combine her with the invisibility ring, and she’s one of the most powerful heroes.
Naria

Pender Spellbane

Offense: A
Defense: C
Utility: A+
Cost Effectiveness: A
Info:
Pender is extremely fast with a whopping 14 meters/second speed, making her the fastest wizard hero. Additionally, she has a high damage multiplier and two exceptional abilities that can easily make her one of the strongest wizard heroes in the game. However, her health is terrible, with a low 50%, making her a glass cannon unit.
Tips:
It’s recommended to use reset-cooldown on abilities that’s the best in that current situation. However, it should be used wisely due to its 20-second cooldown. Manablast is extremely useful when trying to clear swarms, and due to the fact that it has a low “charge-time”, she is able to use the ability simultaneously while moving, making her a great glass cannon hero. However, all forms of actual “face-to-face” combat should be avoided at all costs because of her low-HP.

Arryn Stonewall

Offense: B
Defense: B
Utility: A+
Cost Effectiveness: B+
Info:
Arryn is the fastest warrior hero. She’s relatively fragile and weak, but she comes with a ranged ability that is able to increase her DPS by 32.5, making her not too bad as a warrior hero, especially since she has a high speed.
Tips:
When using Arryn it’s recommended to take advantage of her warcry ability that can drastically increase her and nearby allies’ attack knockback, making her effective at pushing enemies away. She’s not too good at one-on-one melee combat, but she’s definitely good as a support unit.

Nalfar Cryptor

Offense: B+
Defense: A+
Utility: A
Cost Effectiveness: A+
Info:
Nalfar is unarguably the best brawl-hero, as he is able to “sacrifice” his allies and enemies to turn him into a monstrous and powerful hero. He also has a high HP stat to start with, allowing him to take hits while he “grows” by devouring friends and enemies.
Tips:
The use of devour and sacrifice will help at making Nalfar extremely powerful. He is able to consume 90% of the ally’s health and damage stat, making him a giant tank-damage hero that can easily defeat any ogre with ease. However, it’s useful to note that sacrifice also reduces Nalfar’s speed, making him terrible at mobility once he’s large enough.
Nalfar

Zana Woodheart

Offense: C
Defense: B+
Utility: A+
Cost Effectiveness: B
Info:
Although her damage stats may sound disappointing, Zana is the fastest hero available due to her crazy 16 meters/second base speed stat! Additionally, her abilities can easily assist her in performing backstab attacks and also escaping near-death situations by slowing enemies.
Tips:
Make use of her paralyze ability when trying to backstab, as enemies are temporarily disabled. Additionally, after backstabbing it’s recommended to use pacify to reduce enemy speed + attack damage to escape and return at a distance. Her flap ability can reflect projectiles and small ogres, making her an excellent unit in Backwoods Brawl.

Okar Stompfoot

Offense: A
Defense: A+
Utility: C+
Cost Effectiveness: A+
Info:
Okar is a tank-damage hero that has a tremendous amount of health and great damage abilities that makes him an excellent hero at a melee duel. However, he’s extremely slow(4 meters/second), which makes him terrible against ranged units who can kite him indefinitely. His abilities however are extremely powerful making him great at clearing swarms and big ogres alike.
Tips:
It’s best to stay close to the enemy in order for Okar to be effective, as he can be easily “kited” by ranged units. If you find you are being swarmed, then Stomp is extremely useful to clear swarms because of its 300 AoE damage.

Ritic the Cold

Offense: A+
Defense: B+
Utility: A+
Cost Effectiveness: B
Info:
Ritic is undoubtedly the best ranger available, despite him being the most expensive hero at 29000 gems. His abilities can easily fool, kite, and disable enemies making him one of the most popular heroes to use in arenas.
Tips:
Ritic is best used with a backstab weapon like Naria, who can also turn invisible. Additionally, blink can be used to dodge projectiles and confuse enemies. Shadow vortex can be used against swarms to easily clear away any small weak units that may come in Ritic’s way. Since he has a medium-HP value, he shouldn’t be used against actual face-to-face combat unless his abilities are used.
Ritic

Illia Shieldsmith

Offense: B+
Defense: B+
Utility: A
Cost Effectiveness: B+
Info:
Illia is a great hero as her base stats are a direct upgrade from the free heroes. And her abilities can easily be devastating to enemies. She’s undeniably the most versatile hero, excelling at all 3 stats. She can easily counter ranged units and can clear swarms and push away strong ogres. Her shield-bubble can protect nearby allies from attacks.
Tips:
When engaging against ranged units, it’s recommended that Illia use the reflect ability which can deflect projectiles and making them taste their own medicine. Additionally, slam can use her bash shield and clear swarms, making her extremely effective in both against large ogres and swarms. Her shield bubble can extend her shield and protect nearby allies with the same damage reduction, allowing her to survive for a long time. Force push is extremely useful when dealing with slow and strong units such as brawlers.

Usara Master Wizard

Offense: A+
Defense: B+
Utility: A
Cost Effectiveness: A
Info:
Usara has the highest damage multiplier out of all heroes. Her abilities allow her to deal devastating damage if used correctly, and she is easily able to out swarm enemies. Due to her high-stat values, she is able to tank some hits and also deal massive damage against enemies.
Tips:
Usara’s Robobombs and Yetis are both commandable, meaning you can utilize a strategy to make the most out of them. Robobombs deal friendly-damage, so it’s recommended that the robobomb is away from your hero and friendly allies. Baby Yetis are extremely fast, but fragile, so it’s important that they are used effectively. Magnet-field + Robobomb can be a devastating combination if you drag all of the enemy units and the robobomb to the middle, and deal 1000 AoE damage, which is enough to defeat all of the types of ogre units.
Usara

Armando Hoyos

Offense: B
Defense: B+
Utility: B
Info:
Armando sustains the stats of the default heroes, but has an ability which can pull nearby units to him. Since he’s free, he’s a great upgrade for free-to-play players.
Tips:
Armando, along with his mediocre starter-hero stats, has an ability to pull nearby units toward him. This is potentially a very powerful combination with AoE attacks like cleave and flash. However, you should note that enemies are still able to attack you, meaning you should be cautious of which enemies you are pulling toward you.

How fast are the baby yetis? And how much health do they have?

150 HP
30 meters/second speed
42 damage/second
It’s worse than a skeleton in a 1-on-1 combat, but much, much faster.
