Do you need the Ring of Earth to get the earth fist sign above your head?

Yes, you do. The Ring of Earth gives you the ability to cast the earthskin spell.
Does it give your friends more health?
If you cast it upon them, yes. earthskin casts on a target if within 30 meters, increasing their health by a factor of 1.5 for 5 seconds.

What is this ring of Earth I do not see it in the items tab and I do not see it one any of the levels
(I could just a huge idiot and be missing something really obvious )
The Ring of Earth is in the Accessories tab, and it’s the green ring with leaves on it that is unlocked at level 37.
