explain this. a person “BELIVED” to make the earth vs NASA, scientists and historians prooving facts. which one’s more belivable. there’s a reason why they’re called “religious beliefs”

Here is proof.
The world cannot be millions of years old. It has to be about 6-10,000 years, and someone had to of created it. There is a layer of rock at the the very bottom of all rocks (you can see this very well in the Grand Canyon for instance). It’s called the great unconformity. That’s the rock that God created with this world from the start. There are almost no fossils in it because there was no death in the world yet. From there, there’s small layers of rock that probably came from a few small catastrophes that contain fossils.
But now in history a great flood occurs. (This flood actually happened. Many different countries, races, and people groups have some kind of tale about a great flood.) The flood covered the whole earth with water. The sudden rush water, mudslides, etc. rapidly created layers of sediment. Within the sediment or perhaps even igneous and metamorphic rock, are fossils of many different creatures. The fossils are created quickly. There’s even a fossil of a fish eating another fish–midway through a meal! The fossils are at different layers, or strata, of rock. This is probably because land animals, for instance, tried making their way up to higher ground before being overtaken by the rushing waters.
Eventually the flood subsided in about 200 days. Only a few people survived and some animals. The earth was dramatically changed. Rocks and boulders had been pushed up out of the ground. Many layers of strata had been created. Islands and maybe even continents were created. Volcanos exploded creating more layers of rock. Of course, water levels were still high and rivers rushed. The Grand Canyon and others were carved out even more than before in a fairly quick amount because so much water went through it.
Since then, only small catastrophes have occurred. Even mount Saint Helens was small compared to the flood. The ground in Washington was good and probably level. Then the volcano exploded and immediately canyons appeared. It didn’t take millions of years to create those canyons in Washington, it took one catastrophe that was only a day long.
Not only do we have proof that catastrophes can quickly change the world, we have fossils. There are dinosaur bones and horns and stuff that microbiologists can see tissue and cells still in it. The stuff is stretchy. If dinos died millions of years ago, there would be no possible way that tissue and cells could still be alive. It would have to be a fairly recent death.
Anyways, that’s all I’m gonna write right now. But there is much proof that the world was created by a God. And that the earth is young.

Look, there are many proofs for God (ex. Thump’s message) or scientific proofs of Earth’s creation (ex. this) and all people believe in the Earth’s creation in different ways.
However, there is one proven fact that everybody should believe in: arguing, disrespecting others’ Religion, writing off-topic posts is against the rules. And I hope that you guys will note that because these arguments start happening more and more often in different topics. Please remember to respect each other’s opinion and if you want to touch a topic that may offend somebody, think 10 times before you do that. Do you want to start a new argument? If you offended somebody, apologize. And do NOT continue the argument.
Guys, I really hope that you can chat without arguments and disrespecting others. Remember that flags exist and if you don’t like someone’s post, flag it, so Moderators will see it and make a right decision.

Yeah, I had notified the staff about this topic. So if they feel the need when they see it, they can close it. Topics like this are fine, but when the arguments start happening, we want to be able to cut out some of the main causes of it.

I am sorry if I came off as rude I did not mean to come off that way I was trying to challenge him civilly but now I see that it did come off that way and I would like to apologize I think enPointe77 did an excellent job of addressing the facts rather than just saying that the big bang theory is inaccurate i just want people to know that there’s a God that loves them i and I don’t always do the best job of communicating that

Dear everyone who I may of disrespected.
For one, I am sorry. I just had this topic in a debate class so I wanted to kinda show what I knew. I do not know what my religion is so I can’t really settle on the point that a person made a inaminate object. Space is a really fun topic for me and I want to become a astronaut. If I had really hurt your religious feelings, than I am truly sorry for that. My teacher taught me that you do have the right to challenge a person who challenges you. And I wanted to show you guys that there’s proof of the earth’s age. I don’t think that God doesn’t love you but it’s hard for me to belive those facts when dinos existed. Again, thanks for Thump (enPointe77) and Peter for sorting this out.

This topic is a great topic and I don’t want to see funny shower thoughts to be reduced to atoms. We should of taken this to a pm a long time ago. Sorry about the spam and off topic arguments.
