its the prologue to Earthbound! it came out 2014 in the west though, so you might be unfamiliar with it! in japan its just simply known as “MOTHER” like how earthbound here in the west is earthbound.

Mother 1 - This takes place in the early 1980s, Ninten, lloyd, ana and teddy need to defeat GEIGUE (not gygias) which is an alien that Queen Maria took care of, this was before ness was born im pretty sure
Earthbound - this takes places 200X, the characters are Ness, Paula, Jeff and Poo. Ness is PROPHESISED ten years prior that he would save the world. and they defeat GYGIAS (but gygias and geigue are basically the same person, gygias is just a corrupted form of him, you’ll see eventually.) And porky is gonna be evident at some point so watch out for that
Mother 3 - The game does not specify what time it takes place in, but it takes place way in the future, where all civilization has been restarted. Porky is the main villian in this game after traveling through time and space, and makes the pigmask army, which 100% capatalizes the small tazmiliy village, plus mother 3 is WAY more emotinal and serious than the other two, i’ve played it an woo, its a rollercoaster. oh also the team is Lucas, Kumatora, Duster and Boney.
